Cutting EEG (II) 2015: Cutting-edge methods for EEG research on cognition
29 September - 2 October 2015
Venue: Berlin School of Mind and Brain, Luisenstraße 56, Festsaal, 10117 Berlin
Organizer: Maximilien Chaumon
Organizing Committee: Sophie Herbst, Niko Busch, Luca Iemi, Susann Ullrich
Symposium abstract
The popularity of electroencephalography (EEG) has never been growing as fast as in the last 5 years. Thanks to recent methodological advances allowing for instance the time-resolved analysis of brain networks, EEG has become the technique of choice to study the inner workings of the mind.
While this development is liberating without a doubt, it brings about new challenges: EEG researchers must choose from a plethora of analysis frameworks and often have to implement these analyses by themselves. Put simply: EEG research in the present age requires a high level of mathematical, statistical, and programming skills, and keeping methodologically up-to-date is a challenge for every scientist in the field.
CuttingEEG 2015 is the second edition of a symposium for those who want to stay in tune and learn how to use the most powerful techniques available today. This four-day symposium will provide attendees with:
- 9 different 3-hour tutorials that will introduce basic, advanced, and cutting-edge techniques for doing EEG analysis
- 12 talks by leading researchers in the field, who will introduce us to their most advanced methods for exploring the EEG signal
- 2 keynote lectures
- Several surprise events that will illustrate the wide range of applications and innovations taking place today with EEG
- Attendees will be offered the opportunity to present posters of their latest discoveries during the whole event
