Funding for M&B continues!

Open letter to all M&B members and friends

Dear members and friends of M&B,

We are happy to inform all M&B members and friends that the German Research Council (DFG) has announced that it will extend the funding for current Excellence Initiative-funded projects until the end of October 2019. This includes the Berlin School of Mind and Brain.

The fully-funded DFG extension will allow M&B to continue its work at the current high level of activity!

Moreover, Humboldt-Universitaet zu Berlin has confirmed that from 2019 onwards it will supply substantial basic funding for M&B's continuation. This support will be provided in the first instance until 2022 and after an evaluation until 2027, and it will include funding for doctoral projects.

Funding for doctoral projects will also be available through the recently established Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin (ECN), a successful collaborative grant application of M&B together with NeuroCure, the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience, and the Center for Stroke Research at Charité, as well as through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), with four fully-funded three-year stipends for international students.

Furthermore, several additional M&B funding applications are currently under way which, if successful, will significantly improve our funding situation further.

All in all, this is very good news!

We wish to thank all members of the M&B community for their excellent work over the past years and Humboldt-Universitaet zu Berlin for their continuous dedication to the development of M&B. It is much appreciated.

With best wishes,

Professor Dr. Michael Pauen
