Meisterkurs “Know How” with Jason Stanley (Rutgers)

A philosophical “Meisterkurs”, organized by Ellen Fridland & Tobias Rosefeldt (Chair for Classical German Philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin)

MEISTERKURS

The course will cover the most recent debates about the nature of knowledge how and skill. The focus of the course will be on the relation between knowledge and skilled action - in particular on the question of how much of skilled action is explained by knowledge of truths. We will also discuss the impact of different views of the nature of skill on debates in philosophy in which notions such as knowledge how and skill are exploited. The course will cover topics across a wide range of disciplines in philosophy and cognitive science.

The language of the course is English, but as the instructor speaks German, questions and participation in German is welcomed.
