8th Winter School Ethics and Neuroscience

Organized by BCCN and M&B. Free of charge. Registration required!

The 8th Winter School Ethics and Neuroscience is taking place 18-22 February 2019. It is organized by the BCCN Berlin/ICCN and the Berlin School of Mind and Brain. The event is tailored for MA, MSc and PhD students, but covers a range of topics of potential interest to other researchers, reflecting on the ethical and societal consequences of modern neuroscience.

Theoretical foundations as well as practical and ethical aspects are addressed. Participants will benefit from a combination of lectures with group work and discussions, where they will put the learned content into practice.

The winter school offers two parallel tracks: The Philosophical Track focuses on theoretical aspects, metaethics and moral responsibility. The Empirical Track offers theoretical foundations as well as a number of practical ethical aspects in neuroscience, such as animal research, clinical practice, deep brain stimulation, neuro-enhancement, brain reading, neuro-law, good scientific practice, and ethics committees.

Registration is required and free of charge.
